Virtual - GoToWebinar

As DBAs already know, storage responsiveness is critical to database performance. Unfortunately, most storage arrays are unaware of database workload requirements and treat all I/Os the same. To solve these challenges, Oracle Intelligent Storage Protocol (OISP) was introduced with Oracle Database 12c With OISP, the database sends hints to Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance to indicate the nature of the database workload and priority of each I/O (OLTP transaction vs. RMAN backup, for example). This information allows the underlying storage to assign the most critical resources to the highest priority I/O, leading to faster and more consistent database performance. Furthermore, DBAs and Storage Administrators can take advantage of enhanced analytics to correlate AWR reports to storage results while gaining insight down to the pluggable-database level for effective troubleshooting in complex multitenant Oracle Database 12c environments.

In this session you will learn how to:
• Improve database performance with free storage automation features in Oracle Database 12c
• Reduce time-consuming manual tuning
• Improve troubleshooting and collaboration between DBA and storage teams
• Gain detailed insight into the storage-database interaction, down to a per-pluggable database level
